I'm biz traveling a couple of days now, catch up with you when back

Played a Sith Warrior/Juggernaut over the weekend on Jung Ma, but didn't see you on Nyt.

Questing: The mini-instance quests are fun, story lines engaging. Strong emphasis on grouping
Graphics: a little disappointing. Crossing fingers for go live
Crafting: Dunno yet. Have actually used some items I made, and there isn't a ton of grinding, jury out.

Is there a list of servers yet?

early access to star wars mmo is open...who's on it?

Post your server, faction & toon name; we'll have a little reunion.

genne read this yesterday and told me she thought it sounded negative like i was trashing the game or something. if anyone had the same impression, that's not what i meant at all. It was only meant to be a humorous counterpoint to the guy's enthusiasm.

I trashed my iphone a while back and never got around to having the authenticator removed from my account so i could cancel... (yes, exactly what you're thinking)

So I'm talking to the rep and he's all excited about something and starts blathering about it being maintenance day and blah blah the new land mass...er...WUT?

"new land mass? i had no idea..."

"haven't played the game in months, this call is sheer coincidence"

...and that's when i realize that i don't care...

btw: someone send me yden's email too

I play a few mins here and there on Aedraxis, toon name is Twylyte. If I decide to stick with it, I'd probably be interested in tranferring to the highest pop server, once that shakes out.

Though for sure when the Star Wars MMO comes out I'll be all over that.

Guardians = Losers

HAI! i got a last minute beta invite and tried it out. There is a hilareous anti-wow culture, the general chats are all like: "i h8 wow and all wow-players...this game rules"

It does have a couple of cool new concepts (the public raids are fun), and the graphics are nice, but it is so similiar to wow it's a little weird. Even the key binds are the same, "N" for talents, "L" for quests, etc.

You thinking about trying it around April 1st?

While we have some downtime rebuilding the core raiding group I think there are a few things we might consider doing differently to boost attendance, performance, and all around Faceroll goodness.

One of the top considerations when someone chooses a raiding guild is a time slot. With our number of core raiders currently low, it makes sense to at re-evaluate whether or not there is a better fit for us and/or more likely to attract new applicants.

The schedule has been 8 PM to 11:00 PM server on the following days:

  • Weds - Baradin Hold/Tol Barad (previously Northrend weekly raid)

  • Thu/Fri/Sat - Primary raid content for main toons

  • Mon: Alt night for several months, but petered out due to declining population/attendence at the end of WotLK

A few possibilities I'd like to put on the table:

1. Attendence has always been weak on Saturdays, and it is very difficult to fill in gaps with puggies as most people are locked by then. Does changing/moving Saturday to another night work better for you?

2. We're mostly an east coast crowd and frequently call it a night a little early due to fatigue, particularly on Thursdays. Does it make sense to stop (or start) a little earlier?

Raid Attendance

Attending main night raids has never been mandatory, but this has proven to be an impediment to moving through new content. A couple of the major (and obvious) issues are:

1. Experience or "face time" is the most significant factor in downing a boss.

2. Spreading loot over a large body of people increases the number of kills (or time it takes) to get that next boss down.

3. The more often the same people work together, the the better they will work together.

I propose that as a part of this discussion we put together a formal roster of people who can commit (with reasonable certainty) to a specific raid slot on a specific schedule and meet certain composition and performance requirements e.g. 10K individual dps or 9K & [uber raid buff], etc.

In the past, recruiting has often been predicated on the idea that applicants would or should be raiders, but outside of filling a specific hole in a raiding team/roster, this has always seemed pointless to me. I suggest that not only do we abandon this mentality for guild membership, but encourage "casuals" to join.

Imo some of the people that have contributed the most to Faceroll rofls have been Friends & Family members. Some of those "Clickers" have actually gone on to become great raiders. At the same time, there seems to be no shortage of raiders that show up twice, then promptly quit the game.

There is a certain maturity (and age floor) that I think we should continue to require, but beyond that I'd like to welcome a broader audience into our ranks.

Getting Started

I'll jump start the discussion by saying that I'd prefer to keep the raid times roughly the same, but switch Saturday night to Wednesday, and I can commit to performing tanking duties on whatever nights we land.

Baradin Hold

Moving to Wednesday. Help the Horde take Tol Barad! If we are able to get possession of the region, move on to Baradin Hold. The exact time will obviously be unpredictable and participation in the pvp is purely optional.

If we aren't able to capture it but have possession Thursday night at 8 PM server with enough time remaining to down the boss, we will be starting here.

If we don't get the opporutinity to run BH on Thursday, it is on pug status for the rest of the raid lockout.

Throne of the Four Winds

The loot from this raid isn't compelling enough to take time away from our main raiding nights, but if we finish Baradin Hold at a reasonable hour we'll take a crack at it.

Thursday through Saturday

Save your ID's for Blackwing Descent & The Bastion of Twilight.

We will start BWD Thursday and likely continue through Saturday. Please reserve your BoT ID until we can see the particular drake combination this week and make the call to attempt or not.

After the Saturday night, everything is on pug status.

We're back on our regular raiding schedule this week: Thursday through Saturday, 8 PM to 11 PM server.

Hopefully your gear is coming along and you're getting boss legs back from running heroics. If not, there are ppl giving a lot of their time to help us get our gear on. Trick, Gham, Ez, Drez, Lok, Strom, Nyt (to name a few) have all been very patient & generous. My advice: take advantage of them! *Cough* Let them help you!

It would be great if we have enough people and the right composition (lrn2heal) for a 25 this week, but otherwise we'll try to rotate some people through 10 man's.

Next week, we are back to 25's, please don't make me have to pug.
